A 1949 investigation by the American consul… Named in the NARA file unit “Curaçao Visas” as “Kamieniecki, Saweli and wife Rachel Theresia (nee Rosenfeld)” — the 1949 investigation by the American consulate in Shanghai into fraudulent Curaçao entrance visas. He is in the folder because the enquiry swept in everyone holding a Curaçao paper, and the Dutch vice-consul's own evidence puts him on the right side of it: when Visscher handed the Americans the list of Netherlands West Indies visas his office had genuinely issued since 16 November 1948, S. Kamieniecki and wife were on it, their Curaçao visa dated 26 November 1948 and their American transit visas 22 December. The register has him as a cutter of neckties, 29, born 1911 in Warsaw, son of No. 83, who reached Japan and then Shanghai — which is where this file finds him eight years later, still trying to leave. It also gives his wife: Rachel Theresia née Rosenfeld, whom the register never names.

C. Meigs. The register's compiled line gives 1911, and the two are 1 year apart, and the name occurs once on the register. The ship's manifest heading says she sailed from Shanghai, and a passenger born in Poland landing at San Francisco in 1949 from Shanghai is the route's end: the refugees who waited out the war there. So the entry is taken as this person's under the archive's rule of 19 September 2026 for records from the route.
